Below are some custom shop storage and tool set-ups. I designed, built (with some help from my staff), and implemented all of the projects shown below. The biggest problem this shop had was workspace; the stage dwarfed the shop floor by about 3:1 and the ceiling was only twelve feet tall. Any kind of mock-up or test-fitting was always a challenge.
So, with that in mind, all of these projects were designed in the intention of maximizing storage space while freeing up as much open floor space as possible. At the same time, I was able to centralize a lot of major tools and operations so we spent less time walking back and forth from station to station, which takes up more time than you might otherwise think.
Rolling Tool Storage Box
(replaced steel shelves on which hand tools were kept in small bins)
Nora:
Delta Unisaw, Integrated Dust Collector,
and Custom Run-off/Work Table
(more than tripled prior sawing capacity, increased work space and helped control dust to keep our working environment cleaner and healthier)
Some friends of mine anonymously donated $3000 to Bristol Riverside specifically for shop-use. I made the decision to purchase a Unisaw and dust collector with the funds. The name "Nora" is a thankful nod to those responsible for the donation.

Sheet Goods Storage Rack
(greatly increased storage capacity and allowed for efficient retrieval of material)
Rebuilt Miter Saw Station, Shaper Table, Power Tool Storage Cabinet and Wall-Mounted Stick Lumber Rack
(created efficient storage of material, often-needed tools and work stations related to those materials)
